OUR HISTORY
LIGHT RACING INC. was first incorporated in April 1985 by Bryan J. Kudela. In December 2003, Light Racing, Inc was acquired by Specialty Products Company of Colorado, one of the largest suppliers of suspension alignment related parts. With the high mobility expertise of Light Racing, a new product line was introduced to the Specialty Product Family, which included the patented new JounceShock™. They continued a successful partnership with Bryan acting as Vice President of the Light Racing Group of Specialty Products Company for eight years.
In 2011, Bryan parted company amicably with Specialty Products and started a new business under the name LANTERNMARK. Using the same facility developed by himself and his crew in the foothills of Cathey’s Valley, CA just below Yosemite National Park; LANTERNMARK provides a unique and inspiring working environment for prototype vehicle engineering, prototype vehicle builds, and other related services.
For the last forty years, Bryan has been designing and developing specialized off-road vehicles for General Motors Motorsports Group, GM Truck Engineering and GM Military Truck Group, Toyota, among others. In the last years with Specialty Products, the Light Racing Group worked for TAC-V on the design and development of their JAMMA family of high mobility military vehicles. LANTERNMARK continues to specialize in the design of advanced 4WD and AWD off-road performance vehicles as well as military application vehicles with specialized high mobility all-wheel-drive.
In recent years, LANTERNMARK has provided prototype design and build services to both Marine Corps and Army programs which required building seventeen differently configured prototype concept vehicles for Nevada Automotive Test Center. Bryan is currently consulting as an Off-Road Specialist for GM.
